'I went to the handmade noodle restaurant hidden down a tiny alleyway'

"Oh my god Jess, you have to try this noodle place!" my friend text me as I posed to quickly respond, "Why do I have to though?" But before I clicked send, she gave me my reasons. A string of mouth-watering snaps followed, as juicy looking meat sat in a large bowl of glossy liquid with rainbows of colour calling for me into zoom in for up close food shots.

I had to visit. The place in question was Ye Ye Noodle and Dumpling, a tiny little restaurant hidden down an alleyway between the businesses

I went to London's 'best restaurant' Happy and it's an embarrassment to the city

Happy is apparently London's Best Restaurant. Yes, one of the bright, blaring eateries in London's Tourist Trap Triangle (AKA Piccadilly Circus) won the title at the British Restaurant Awards 2022. No, I couldn't believe it either.

Well, I say that but the award is actually voted for by members of the public, so some people must believe it. Actual real-life members of the public believe that this Bulgarian chain equivalent of Wimpy is amazing enough to beat out all of the fantastic restaurants

'I went to the cafe people queue down the street for their cheesy hash browns'

Walk along most main streets in London towards the end of the week and you're likely to end up tight-roping along the kerb to avoid a queue spilling from a cafe's door. For me, the main perpetrator of this obstacle recently has been on Tooting's Mitcham Road.

Open every day, Juliet's Quality Foods regularly has queues along the street for their coffee and brunch. And it's not just in real life where they're tripping me up, Instagram posts of their golden hash browns dripping in cheese have been

The hilarious things we overheard in Harrods as tourists baffled by some prices

Harrods is easily the world's most famous department store and also easily one of the poshest in London. So unsurprisingly, you can hear all kinds of great things just by walking around.

From food halls filled with luxurious treats to gift shops with pricey merchandise, there's all kind of items for tourists to be amazed by - and shocked at the price of. Braving the crowds during the half term holidays, I went for a cheeky wander round the huge store on Brompton Road.

One of London's oldest delis that's served since Queen Vic & run by same family

On 2 August 1900 when Queen Victoria was still on the throne, Paul Rothe opened his German delicatessen on Marylebone Lane. Selling groceries and goods to West Londoners, they've seen the community through both World Wars, the invention of the internet and the end of the Cold War, growing to be a much loved deli to this day.

His son, Robert, took over the shop in the 1930's and was succeeded by his son, Paul, in the late 60's. Now 70-years-old, Paul continues to work in the store-turned-cafe wi

Police Raids & Lily Savage - one of London's oldest LGBTQ bars' incredible story

Just a stone's throw away from Vauxhall station, holding symbolic status and international fame, lies the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT). An undeniable staple in London's LGBTQ+ nightlife, this iconic venue is not just a performance space, but a sanctuary for many - both then and now.

In 1967, the Sexual Offences Act decriminalised sex between two men over 21 and ‘in private’. However, the RVT has proved an incredibly vital part of the LGBT community since the 1950's, and there's even unconfirmed

'I went to Winter Wonderland with £20 and couldn't believe what my money got me'

Winter Wonderland is back this year and tourists are already flocking to the capital to visit it.

Known for its high prices, many Londoners (myself included) are often put off by the thought of having to splash out to enjoy the Christmassy attraction.

On a mission to work out the true costs, I armed myself with just £20 to see if I could still get the 'real' festive experience.

I tried Gordon Ramsay's £12.50 Harrods chips and could have laughed in his face

With the endless talk of Salt Bae's £630 steak and ridiculous receipts, I've found myself stalking other notoriously expensive restaurants online to see their pricey menus.

Unsurprisingly, Gordon Ramsay made his way on to my radar with his Gordon Ramsay Burger restaurant in Harrods, where he serves an £80 burger.

Last week I just could not resist and tried the £25 burger, which was still an absolute rip off.

I ate at Trip Advisor's top Caribbean restaurant in London and it was a disgrace

For a lot of us, checking review sites before going out for food is the norm. Particularly here in London where there's so many restaurants on offer.

When searching for the best Caribbean food in the city, I was surprised to see who was listed as number one on Tripadvisor.

A national chain, Turtle Bay serves up dishes of the islands. But I find it controversial that it's titled as the 'best', and I can imagine it will cause quite a stir amongst independent Caribbean restaurant owners.
